Despite the disappointment of their planned street party for Monday being postponed due to the classic British weather pulling its rainy tricks, the home was still filled with high spirits and a festive atmosphere. Team member Dave came dressed in his best regalia and went around to see the residents, who are affectionately referred to as family members, spreading cheer and delight.
The home was bedecked in decorations with everyone dressed in their best, and the day was marked with a special range of English fare including cakes, sherry and fizz. An array of games were played and festive props, including crowns and funny glasses were worn. The mood was light-hearted and the family members were keenly engaged in the celebrations. At times, there was almost complete silence as everyone was transfixed on the TV during the crowning of King Charles III.
Sundial Care Home is already looking forward to their postponed street party and say it will be a celebration for everyone at the home to enjoy.
