We hope that everyone in town will be pleased to hear that the Ottery Gazette is now back in production starting with the June issue. From now on there will be 11 issues per year (there is no January issue) coming out close to the 1st of each month. The paper will be delivered free as before to all of the houses in the main town area. In addition copies will be available for collection in various locations including the village shops in West Hill, Whimple and Feniton. There will also be copies available in The Curious Otter Bookshop on Mill Street in Ottery St Mary itself.
The award winning Gazette was founded and run by John Gaffney who sadly passed away in June 2015. After that there were a number of issues produced by John’s family with the final issue coming in June 2016 . After discussing and agreeing it with John’s family Adrian and Pete from The Curious Otter Bookshop have now agreed to take on the role of publishing and distributing the Gazette. Everything about the Gazette will be exactly the same as before including John’s original vision for the paper.
The paper’s emphasis is to publish good news and useful information in respect of the town and nearby villages. All of the old contributors have been invited to continue to provide copy for the paper and new contributions that fit with the papers core aims are welcome.
I'm sure you will all join me in wishing this all the success it deserves.
