Ottery St. Mary retirees are invited to a ‘Friendship Friday’ event at the Tumbling Weir Court Retirement Living Development on Friday 20th March, from 11am until 1pm, where a warm welcome awaits all those who want to enjoy a sociable afternoon with McCarthy and Stone staff and residents.
McCarthy and Stone’s ‘Friendship Friday’ event at Tumbling Weir Court aims to provide a vital friendship link for older people in and around Ottery St Mary who may be experiencing loneliness or are feeling isolated.
All those who attend the event at Tumbling Weir Court on Tumbling Weir Way can get to know their fellow local retirees in the relaxing surroundings of the development’s communal lounge, with coffee and cake being served throughout.
Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing at McCarthy and Stone, said: “Our forthcoming ‘Friendship Friday’ event is a great opportunity for anyone in the local area who is feeling isolated – or who would simply like the company of others for the afternoon – to join us for coffee, cake and a chat in a welcoming and supportive environment.
“This event is all about reconnecting older people with their wider community. At McCarthy and Stone, we are committed to enriching the lives of older people and their families, and we know that supporting retirees to engage in activities they enjoy and helping them to maintain their independence is a big part of this.”
