I was sadden to hear today that Betty had passed away on the 8th March. You may remember two of my previous blogs about Betty. A lady from West Hill who paid over £1000 for a traditional Christmas dinner for about 50 strangers to have a three course Christmas lunch with her at the local pub - Lamb and Flag. Betty did this because she thought for some, Christmas is a time of sorrow as they don't have extra money to buy presents for family members or friends, and for many a Christmas dinner with turkey, family or friends is not a reality.
Betty sadly passed away at the RDE in Exeter earlier this month.
Tributes are currently being made to the 'kind-hearted' West hill woman for her generosity. The article below by Sidmouth Hearld will give you a small insight to this remarkable woman.
Betty's funeral service will be on 29th March at West Hill Paris Church at 12:00 (midday).
