Beware of the Test and Trace scam!

According to the Citizen's Advice one in every three people have been contacted by a scammer since the outbreak began!

Scammers will typically text or call saying you've been in contact with someone who had tested positive or that you've recently tested positive following a recent swab and that you need another test!  You then get prompted to ring a number provided and get asked for bank details in order to pay for such testing.

NHS Test and Trace will NOT 

• ask for bank details or payments
• ask for details of any other accounts, such as social media
• ask you to set up a password or PIN number over the phone
• ask you to call a premium rate number, such as those starting with 09 or 087

Text messages will come from NHStracing and calls from 0300 0135000.  You will then be asked to sign in to the NHS Test and Trace contact tracing website.
