Do you remember the lovely lady Betty Williams who last year paid over £1000 for a traditional Christmas dinner for about 50 strangers to have a three course Christmas lunch with her at the local pub - Lamb and Flag.
Betty thought for some, Christmas is a time of sorrow as they don't have extra money to buy presents for family members or friends, and for many a Christmas dinner with turkey, family or friends is not a reality.
Betty was widowed 13 years ago and found herself alone at Christmas time, Betty decided she wanted that to change and wanted to ensure people were not on their own at Christmas so she booked every table in the pub and also had entertainment, a band and the parish church choir.
The story was phenomenal and attracted much media attention as the at the time 86 year old retired pensioner was thinking not about herself, but only about those who may be lonely at Christmas time.
So, this year ...Betty does it again.
